Yetholm Parish Church Architectural Details

The Bell
Cast in Middleburg in Holland, it is 12½ inches in height and 15 inches in diameter at the skirt. The inscription reads 'IOHANNES BVRGERHVYS ME FECIT 1643'.

Interestingly, this is the same maker as the Maxton bell, which is inscribed '1609, Soli Deo Gloria Ian Burgerhuys me fecit'. The Maxton bell is larger at 19 inches in diameter.

The Clock
Purchased as the result of a legacy from Andrew Blythe, it is mounted in the tower and looks out over both villages. It has five chiming bells each inscribed 'Gillett & Johnson Croydon 1934'.

Stained Glass Windows
Also made possible by Andrew Blythe's legacy, these four windows were designed by James Ballantine and completed soon after Blythe's death. Blythe himself influenced the design before his death in 1934. Another stained glass window is dedicated to John King.

Ballantine gave the pulpit Bible to the church in 1934.
