Dr Scott of Thirlestane

Dr Scott was one of the lairds of Thirlestane and one of the physicians of King Charles II. 'He seems to have been a chemist of some celebrity in his day. In the old mansion-house of Thirlestane a room , which had probably been used as his laboratory, continued to retain the name of 'the warlock's room'.'
