Following a long and protracted public consultation, the threatened closure of Yetholm GP Surgery will not now take place. Instead, the Yetholm surgery will remain open and provide an improved GP service to the communities of both Yetholm and Morebattle. Yetholm's annual Hill walking week-end has been scheduled for the 24th to 26th May 2008.
